Dear Friends,

ODSA1
As the daylight grows longer, we know that many of you are yearning for the return of green grass and  warm sunshine to your courses, fields and parks. ODSA is busy working with past member clubs in renewing their memberships and welcoming many new clubs and organizations to our ranks. ODSA has been evolving over the winter to better serve the needs of its members and their clubs. One of our initiatives this year is to distribute rulebooks to all members, through their organizations. Disc Golfers will receive the most recent PDGA - Disc Golf rules and Ultimate players will receive a customized ODSA version of the just released 11th edition UPA rules of Ultimate. Rulebooks are a key benefit of all membership categories.  It's all about getting the proper information into the hands of players. These pocket versions will fit nicely into any backpack or bag, allowing for easy future reference.

Speaking of Renewal

TUC LogoAs of February 24th, ODSA has signed up 3750 members for 2007.Member Ultimate clubs which have renewed and are taking advantage of ODSA's insurance coverage include MRSC, PUL, SUC and SUPA. We are pleased to welcome Urban Sports Club (USC) out of Milton, which is offering Ultimate as one of their organized activities, along with Toronto Ultimate Club (TUC), one of the oldest and largest Ultimate organizations in Canada, as Basic members. On the Disc Golf front, we welcome Ottawa Disc Golf Club (ODGC) as new members within the Insurance category.

We are looking forward to serving both returning and new members throughout 2007.
Those Little Devil's

Daredevil Discs LogoWell as many of you already know, Daredevil Discs is a small start-up out of the Ottawa area. Riding on the popularity of Ultimate in the Nation's Capital, they created an Ultimate disc which has taken a few years to gain critical mass, but they've been plugging away and have been approved for play by the UPA and adopted by many Canadian leagues as their official "disc of choice".

Recently they've been tinkering in the Disc Golf market, creating a new series of golf discs. Earlier this month, they received approval from the PDGA to market discs as PDGA- approved product. If they thought the Ultimate market was tough, now they have a bigger picture to contend with. One of their most obvious assets is, and will continue to be, the fact that their products are Canadian made. No more heavy shipping, duties and brokerage fees to contend with. Their disc's come with Canadian names eh!  Through a contest, winning entries include Beaver, Swift Fox, Timberwolf, Wolverine, Woodchuck and Gamedisc.

Hats off and well done you little devils!

While disKRAZE is the medium to communicate to the members, we can't always fully cover all the news in a timely fashion.Read All About It In an effort to bring the news to you more often than not, we decided to update our website (work in progress...suggestions welcome). The home page is updated daily to reflect government funding updates or new initiatives, along with relevant industry/supplier news, tournament dates and organization information. There are links from the homepage to newsletters, articles, emails and websites which contain more detailed information.  Stay in the know by making this part of your favorites list and check back on a regular basis to see what's up!
