Keeping It Green
Ever Consider a Green-Collar Job?
 Many Americans today are facing great uncertainty with their jobs. Some have already lost theirs and even more are looking over their shoulders waiting for a tap by the personnel manager or boss. These challenges are inevitably faced by many of us in the disc golf community as well.
So as the global economy shifts right out from under out feet, and entire industries evaporating overnight with new ones suddenly emerging, we may be wise to consider one of the most promising sectors that will drive the economic engine in the foreseeable future-- The Green-Collar Economy.
With that in mind, here are three action items to help you join in the rising tide of the Green-Collar Economy:
a. evaluate your work day and how you can modify it towards reducing your company's carbon footprint (i.e. telecommute, reduce paper use, car pool). Leading by example is the most powerful model you have to demonstrate your value;
Clearly, these are just introductory steps, but they could well set off towards a stable (and sustainable) future in your career.
I welcome you comments on this (and every) edition of the PDGA eNewsletter. All you've got to do is write me at jgduesler@pdga.com. Until then, thanks for your support of the PDGA!
